SAFERS Bot is a chatbot developed for Telegram with the aim of helping citizens, professionals, and volunteers to actively participate in forest fire prevention, monitoring and management activities, while facilitating communication between the control room and actors in the field. The application enables real-time information gathering via geolocated multimedia content from smartphones, as well as push notifications to alert at-risk areas. In addition, SAFERS Bot simplifies the coordination of people by enabling real-time sharing of location and tasks, with the ability to assign specific missions to individuals or teams, while tracking their progress. A gamification strategy has been put in place to encourage citizen engagement, reinforce awareness of good practices in the event of an emergency, and encourage them to actively contribute to information gathering.

 

The SAFERS chatbot offers a wide range of functionalities, including people and resource management to track deployed individuals, mission management to instruct and track the progress of tasks assigned to forces in the field, participative data collection enabling citizens and professionals to send geolocated multimedia updates, communication from the control room to provide information on fire risks and self-protection behaviours, and the ability to review other users' reports with notes to help decision-makers in emergency management.

All the information collected is then integrated and visualized on a map, thanks to an integration with the SAFERS dashboard, providing an overview of all relevant data.
