The participants had the opportunity to visit the burned area from the 2019 fire, providing valuable insights into the long-term impact of forest fires on the environment and communities.

SAFERS has recently released a Tutorial about the implemented Chatbot for citizens. SAFERS bot is a Mobile Application developed for Telegram with the aim of helping citizens to actively participate in forest fire prevention and management activities. The application enables real-time information gathering via geolocated multimedia content from smartphones, as well as push notifications to alert at-risk areas. In addition, SAFERS Bot simplifies the coordination of people by enabling real-time sharing of location and tasks, with the ability to assign specific missions to individuals or teams, while tracking their progress. A gamification strategy has been put in place to encourage citizen engagement, reinforce awareness of good practices in the event of an emergency, and encourage them to actively contribute to information gathering.
