On the 19th to 20th October 2022, the first field demonstration was organised by the Fire and Rescue Department of North Corsica (SIS2B) and held at the SIS of Haute-Corse in the municipalities of Furiani and Biguglia gathering almost 40 participants. The participants represented diverse profiles including firefighters, local authorities and students specializing in risk management.

From 4th to 7th October 2022, the ‘Fire Ecology Across Boundaries: Connecting Sciences and Management’ conference took place in a hybrid format in Florence (Italy) and online. The conference was organised by the Association for Fire Ecology (AFE), Pau costa Foundation (PCF), Region of Tuscany and the University of Florence. Several topics were covered including "The roles of fire ecology for the ecosystem", " New fire generations in Europe and beyond" and "Managing with fire vs prescribing fire for ecological purposes". The event gathered diverse actors of the wildfire management such as scientists, policymakers, wildfire and landscape managers, communicators and other representatives from national, regional and local organisations.
Organised by CERTH, SAFERS project held its Mid-term Review on the 31st of May 2022 in the presence of the Project Officer and external reviewers in Thessaloniki, Greece. The consortium illustrated the progress and the achieved milestones of the project including the current status of developing SAFERS open & integrated platform and the intelligent services which will be released (Alpha version) soon.

The 19th International Conference on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management is co-organized by the National School of Engineers of Tarbes and ISCRAM Organisation and it will be held in Tarbes, France on 22-25 May, 2022.

This year is one of the most important with major milestones linked to global policy agendas. There is the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, there is also the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration. These all bring a new set of challenges and opportunities for the international EO community.
